Were there sacrifices made in order for you to have a chance to chase your passion?

In order to pursue my dream and get closer to an environment where I could pursue my personal projects and engage in the activities I love, I quit my job and gave up my apartment. The hardest part was saying goodbye to my loved ones; my friends and family.

What pushed you to place yourself out of your comfort zone?

I started my professional career 7 years ago as a financial controller in a major Swiss watchmaking company. Despite the rewarding professional experience it provided, I couldn't find satisfaction over the years and the established routine, especially from a personal standpoint. Above all, by leaving this daily life behind, I wanted to venture into the unknown without a plan in order to shake things up, break my routine, and discover new horizons that could bring me both experience and personal enrichment. I told myself: I would rather live with less/a more uncertain future, but live every day to the fullest, with discovery and unique experiences.
Today, I know that being able to live daily in an environment that inspires me and allows me to pursue my passions brings a great addition to my life.
"We don't grow when we stay inside our comfort zone."

Would you recommend people to chase their dreams even though it could be the road less traveled?

"The Road Not Taken" is a poem that inspires me a lot. It interprets how our lives can be so different based on our decisions. Pursuing our dreams, for me, is the best decision we can make in life; we should even prioritize it! Making a choice is never easy, I even think it's the most challenging thing, but it's our responsibility to make our own choices, take actions to achieve (or at least get closer to) the things that inspire us, make us thrive, and live life to the fullest.
What I've learned from the major decisions I've had to make recently is that we are never 100% sure of the path we're taking; there will always be doubt and risk. Nobody knows what the future holds, and nobody truly knows what could have been if we had taken a different path in life; that's why when we decide to follow a certain path, we should be at peace and accept the fact that, in return, there are certain concessions to be made, including not knowing where the other path would have led us.

Has chasing your passion gotten you to a situation where you wanted to give up? If so, how did you persevere?

Of course, and it happens a multitude of times! A passion can bring both a sense of happiness and satisfaction when we feel growth or success, whether it's learning a new chord on the ukulele or mastering a new surfing move. On the other hand, there are moments where we feel like we're not progressing, stagnating, or constantly failing. What helps me keep going is always having a holistic view of our evolution. Not forgetting that each step, even if they may sound negative, are also part of the learning process and valuable elements for our future.

What would be your message of inspiration to others who want to chase their dreams and passion like you?

You will truly understand the value and importance of doing so once you have experienced it. I have procrastinated, doubted myself, and pushed things off, but once I had a taste of the happiness that comes from realizing a dream and living my passions on a daily basis, it became clear to me that every human should strive to do this at least once in their lives. We can never regret having tried.
