It's that time of the month again at Hunnywax, where we proudly showcase outstanding individuals who truly deserve the spotlight. This month, we've got something special for you as we introduce to you: Mylene Abraham and her awe-inspiring lifestyle, passion, and hobby. We asked Mylene to delve into her unique stories and learn more about their new adventures and creative outlets.

Were there sacrifices made in order for you to have a chance to chase your passion?

At one point in my life, I felt utterly lost. I hated my job, was in an abusive relationship, and didn't feel like I was growing as a person. I decided to restart my life, quit my job, left my partner at the time, and eventually flew to Bali to pursue a career as a yoga teacher. It took a lot of courage to restart my life, and it didn't happen overnight. You need to decide what you really want to do with your life and not be afraid to pursue it. The universe will put people and circumstances in your path that will eventually help you achieve the life you desire. The sacrifice I made involved stretching my reality; I had to rewire my brain to believe that I am limitless, that the universe has my back, and that whatever my heart desires is my birthright.

What pushed you to place yourself out of your comfort zone?

Realizing that I didn't like my life and wasn't happy at all pushed me out of my comfort zone. I no longer wanted to be unhappy. I often woke up in the middle of the night questioning why I had been given this life. I started reflecting on many things and realized that my core values didn't align with the life I was living. I was just settling for what was available, even though I knew deep inside that I deserved more and wanted to experience so much more in life.

Would you recommend people to chase their dreams even though it could be the road less traveled?

Absolutely. This life is not meant to be plain and ordinary. You can always make it more colorful and exciting. Chasing your dreams might bring emotions like regret and sadness, and you might feel alone sometimes, but learn to be comfortable in your own company. As humans, we are wired to be scared of the unknown because it's a threat to our survival. So, rewiring your brain to believe that you will be fine no matter what happens is crucial. There is a higher power that has your back, and you don’t have to be scared anymore.

Has chasing your passion gotten you to a situation where you wanted to give up? If so, how did you persevere?

Yes, many times. It's an inevitable part of the journey. Whenever it happened, I would go back to my vision board and look at it, believing I could achieve it. Every cell of my body would get excited, and excitement is one of the highest vibrational frequencies a person can have. We attract the same energy we give to the world.

What would be your message of inspiration to others who want to chase their dreams and passion like you?

I would recommend that those who want to chase their dreams be ready because it will feel really uncomfortable. Have a vision board of what you want your life to look like. I highly suggest starting your healing journey as it will equip you to handle the challenges ahead and prevent you from retreating to your comfort zone when things get hard. Journal your thoughts and experiences. Heal generational traumas, and don’t be afraid to break cultural norms. Chasing your dreams will sometimes make you feel like an outcast, but don’t be afraid to be alone. That is when you will learn the most about yourself.
